Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other is the publication accompanying the exhibition of the same name at Deichtorhallen, curated by Mark Sealy, the artistic director of the 9th Triennial. Bringing together contemporary international artists, Sealy approaches photography through a decolonial lens, exploring ethics, identity, belonging, memory, and solidarity through the experience of seeing and being seen. The publication follows the exhibition’s structure, with three image sections corresponding to its chapters—at the beginning, middle, and end of the book—each incorporating a double-page fold-out to create additional space for the photographic works. German and English text sections separate and frame the visual sequences.
