Concept and design for Zaudern ums Gemeinwohl by Felix Marlow, Rebecca Wall and Ignacio Farías (Institute for European Ethnology, HU Berlin), published by adocs, 2024. The book explores two outstanding cooperative urban development processes for the common good in Berlin: Haus der Statistik and Rathausblock Kreuzberg. The authors look into contradictory practices of urban design that often lead to misunderstandings, controversies or uncertainties. By using hesitation as a tool, ambivalences support cooperation, uncertainties replace conflicts, and controversies between actors become visible.
